Image from Camp Slayer, an area formerly known as the Radwaniyah Presidential Site, which was just one of Saddam's many palaces. This area was off-limits to UN weapons inspection teams prior to the start of the war. The site is located about 9 miles east of central Baghdad, and is adjacent to 'Saddam International Airport'. The compound itself is 9.3 square miles in size, surrounded by three artificial lakes. This was a favorite playground of Saddam and his closest associates. One of the Saddam Hussein Ba'ath's party convention center and boat house. Saddam held meetings in this facility with his senior associates and military leaders. The facility took severe damage by Coalition Aircraft at the start of the campaign.
